According to Agfa's 1932 catalog, this version of the large Agfa Standard 255 folding camera (21 cm tall), with a leather-clad aluminum body in a brown color, would be a Type 255 K.
It is equipped with a lens that opens to 7.7 and more if the lever is pushed beyond the graduation. Focusing is possible from 2 meters. According to the manual, the shutter is an Agfa Automatic made by Gauthier (AGC). The film spool holders can be lifted to facilitate loading of the Agfa D6 film, which produces negatives of 6.5 x 11 cm.
Two viewfinders are available on this camera: a clear viewfinder that tilts on the optical block, and a non-optical dual-frame viewfinder. The rear element of the latter demonstrates that it is the first version: it was too fragile and was modified in later versions.
The small, square inactinic window on the back is typical of Agfa cameras and is used to check the film advance. The luxury version is characterized by its brown leather covering and bellows.
